In 2023, a consortium of investors and a public-private alliance initiated the design of a world-class pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in african continent. The project’s objective was to establish a large-scale facility capable of producing vaccines and essential medicines to serve both West Africa and export markets. The Trastamaris team was commissioned to lead the complete business modeling and development of the Business Plan.
The primary challenge was to structure a financially viable, GMP-compliant operation incorporating R&D labs, cleanroom manufacturing, regulatory interfaces, and a full-scale distribution logistics system.
From cold chain logistics to technology transfer agreements, each element had to be evaluated under WHO prequalification standards and local ANRP regulation.
The business model had to encompass high CapEx investment, multilateral financing rounds, and sustainability forecasting across 15+ therapeutic classes.
